Politics And The Welfare Or Abusive State

Politics And The Welfare Or Abusive State; Fiction, My Original

Briefly

By Edward Fagan

Politics and public assistance

Politics, according to some politicians, should not participate in any kind of welfare activity. It should, instead, stop the very rich from paying any portion of the tax burden they are carrying.

These politicians therefore aim to gradually have the lower classes pay all of the taxes collected. All this time they are trying to win the votes of the lower classes. The lower classes we all know, cast the majority of election votes.

These politicians do all of this while they try to close down such services as Medicare,  Medicaid and Planned Parenthood. These are the very social services on which their grassroots supporters happen to depend.

Politics and the other state

Many politicians who long to free society of all aspects of the welfare state, want to create the other state. This other state, the abusive state, is the utopian dream of these politicians.

In this abusive state, these politicians, their relatives, their very wealthy tax-exempted friends and business associates exist above the law. This group is free of all moral and financial accountability. Their businesses, likewise, are free of all moral, financial and environmental regulation.

Moral, social and economic justice do not exist for this type of politician. Here too, everyone else is on their own or at the mercy of the all powerful political and corporate masters. Many will need these masters’ personal patronage, from cradle to grave.

History speaks and beckons against the abusive state, but will these political and corporate masters respond as they should?

Policing Practices And Their Effectiveness

Crime, Punishment And Reform; Policing Practices And Their Effectiveness

By Edward Fagan

Policing, a vital service

Policing is an important field. Every society requiring people to act within its laws must have a police force to ensure this happens. Society thus must highly train and properly equip its police force. This police force can then perform its duty efficiently and effectively within the law..

This police force must also employ qualified and impartial selectors. It must, additionally, use an effective selection process for screening applicants.

The police force should also select only the most suitable applicants available. They should recruit only applicants with the best possible character. Such applicants, trained by the ideal basic and continuing training programmes, will become good policemen.

Where the force practises illegal and habitual physical violence against citizens, authorities should launch an  independent and impartial enquiry. Such an enquiry should also exist where the force shows signs of corruption.

The law courts should prosecute members of the force who are guilty of illegal physical acts against citizens. The courts should also prosecute those members who perform acts of corruption.

Evidence of habitual physical abuse, or habitual corruption should also prompt a review of several areas of the force. This review should look at, among other areas and people, selection and recruitment processes, and recruiters. It should also look at training and appraisal, and their methods and content.

Children’s Rights, Protecting Them From Us

Children's Rights, Protecting Them Against Us

 An original essay

by Edward Fagan

Children’s rights, the basics

Children’s rights we often overlook and when this happens, our children suffer. Sometimes we as parents or guardians place too much emphasis on certain practices toward our children. In so doing, we often ignore their rights in some areas.

There are several areas of rights of children including those dealing with their physical and circumstantial needs. Here, we are looking at two of the less obvious rights. These, expectedly, are among those that we neglect the most.

One such right demands that we protect children from dangerous people. We thus must stop exposing children to dangerous people, even when we are naive about their dangerousness.  Another such right is that we stop using children in our demonstrations of political correctness.

Children’s rights, consequences of denial

The following incident took place in Wyoming, United States, around October 18 this year. Miguel Martinez, a man claiming transgender womanhood invited a ten year old girl to accompany him in a bathroom. He allegedly fondled her breasts and genitalia and then penetrated her. He was a family friend.

During a medical examination of the girl’s genitalia, nurses found evidence of sexual assault. Martinez was on trial October 19, in a case due to last four days.

The above incident shows how we disregard the two children’s rights mentioned above. The girl’s family denied her the right of protection against a dangerous man. They seem naive about his dangerousness. They allowed him in the house around her, and she trusted him because of that.

Her family might have been trying to be politically correct if they allowed her to accompany him in the bathroom. Are they guilty of denying her the second of two rights mentioned above? Yes, if they allowed her to go with him to the bathroom out of political correctness.

Faith, A Necessary Fact Of Life

An original essay

by Edward Fagan

Faith, the background

Faith, more so than fact, forms the basis of most of our daily actions. Many examples bear this out. We accept on the basis of faith in them, the couple who love and raise us as our parents. Likewise, we show this same trust when we visit our doctor, and take our prescription to the pharmacist. We never question our doctor or our pharmacist ability to provide the care we seek. We trust our fellow man every day of our life.

People are not so willing to act based on trusting God and his word. From the very beginning we distrusted God and disobeyed him. Some say men wrote the Bible so it is fallible.

Atheists and sceptics say they reject the existence of God because they can not prove it. They, however, accept his nonexistence without being able to prove it.

Jesus, His Death And Resurrection

Missing A Child Who Is Abducted Mysteriously; Jesus, His Death And Resurrection

An original essay

by Edward Fagan

Jesus, the commandments

Jesus’ death and resurrection had to happen before man could regain access to eternal life. God also wanted man to continue keeping the ten commandments after the occurrence of those two events. Man’s keeping the Ten Commandments continues to be a necessary requirement for him to regain access to eternal life.

This is an awesome divine privilege, and Paul expresses this point clearly in 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10. Please see the following about the importance of keeping the Ten Commandments: Matthew 7:21, 19:17; 1John 2:3-4.

God required man to keep the Ten Commandments before his demise when he did not need a deliverer. He gave man the Ten Commandments in the Garden of Eden when he was sinless. Man fell because he failed at keeping those commandments.

Keeping the commandments helps us to develop Godly character and destroy the old sinful man, John 12:25. The old sinful man must die so that the new man can live in us Matthew 9:17. God’s divine spirit can not join our human spirit if it is corrupt with sin. We need God’s divine spirit to join our human spirit and make us whole, complete, Matthew 5:48; Job 32:8.

Jesus, grace

Christ’s death frees us from inevitable eternal death, and His resurrection makes our resurrection to eternal life possible. Both events give us a second chance at eternal life, and allow us to benefit from God’s grace toward us. God’s grace does not remove the necessity of our keeping the ten commandments. Grace and the ten commandments are not in conflict with each other.

Rebuilding Offers A Great Opportunity

Rebuilding Offers A Great OpportunityHello, can you spare a moment?

Rebuilding, improvement opportunities

Rebuilding a country after the destruction of a hurricane is hard work. It is also very costly. Once, however, government secures funding for the reconstruction effort, it can begin. Such effort also can help improve the economy and infrastructure of the country affected. This is so even as our hearts go out to those who suffered injury or lost relatives or property.

This increased construction effort generates needed economic activity in the affected country. It increases employment in the construction sector and other sectors, and increases spending power of workers generally. It also allows us the opportunity to improve or replace faulty or outdated infrastructural and other systems.

People of the countries affected should seek to benefit from this reconstruction opportunity in every way possible.

Empathy Is An Important Quality

Empathy Is An Important Quality; Progress, Time And Conservatism

Hello, can you spare a moment?

Empathy and concern for the next person

Empathy and our hearts go out to the victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Often, during natural disasters we call on God to help and support us. God helps us by normalizing the weather and allowing others not affected to provide relief supplies.

In light of this, it seems we’re producing a generation of people who’re unable to sympathize and empathize. They’re thus a generation of bullies, heartless and uncaring; but what does this hold for future society and what can we do to change it?
